South Bay- Palos Verdes Peninsula

Palos Verdes is a name often used to refer to a group of coastal cities on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in southwestern Los Angles County.  Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills are the leading cities in the area, with a section of San Pedro extending onto the end of the peninsula. Rat Beach is the closest strip of sand to Palos Verdes, located directly below the Palos Verdes Beach Club. Relatively uncrowded, this is a great spot if you are a member of the club. It gives you the opportunity to step in the ocean and return to the club to eat by the grill.  

Torrance Beach is one of the most relaxing spots on the sand and gives you the true beach experience. Without shops and restaurants you have to bring your own food and drinks. Stop by Rinaldis Deli in Redondo Beach and bring some delicious sandwiches to your beach spot. 

Hermosa Beach & Pier gives you a busy atmosphere and is great for people watching.It offers tons of restaurants, fun shopping, bikers, skaters, volleyball player, etc. Popular among fitness buffs. 

Manhattan Beach provides the most entertainment. The beach and surrounding area offers small retail stores, eateries, and bars which are great options for those needing a break from the hot sun.
